1、Purchase a diamond painting kit.

Most kits will contain the following: pre-printed canvas, flat diamonds (also called drills), trays, pen-like tools, and a pack of gel or wax

2、Know how to read the canvas.

The canvas consists of small grids, and these boxes are colored and marked with numbers, letters and/or symbols. Each symbol corresponds to a diamond color. The symbols are written on the chart, and the corresponding bag and drill colors are written below or beside the chart. The chart is usually printed on one side of the canvas.

3. Unfold the canvas and stick it on a flat surface.

If the canvas does not lie flat, roll it up to the other side and then unfold it. Lay it on a flat surface, and fix the edges with tape.

4. Peel off part of the plastic covering on the canvas.

1 to 2 inches (2.54 to 5.08 cm) is sufficient. Do not peel off the entire plastic cover, otherwise the adhesive on the canvas will become dirty and lose its stickiness.

5. Look at the part of the canvas you just exposed.

Choose a box to start and pay attention to the symbols in it. Match the symbols on the canvas with the diagram, and then find packages with the same symbols.

6. Open the bag and pour some diamonds on the tray that comes with the kit.

Shake the tray gently to distribute the diamonds evenly and place them in the correct direction.

7. Dip the pen tool into the gel or wax that comes with the kit.

Open the gel/wax pack that comes with the kit and dip the metal end of the pen in the gel/wax to pick up some. This will allow the pen to pick up the drill.

8. Pick up a diamond with a pen.

Gently press the tip of the pen against the top facet part of the drill. Lift the pen off the tray; the drill bit should stick to it.

9. Gently press the drill bit on the corresponding square.

Pull the pen away; the crystal should be attached to the canvas. If you are just starting, it may be a good idea to press lightly at first. This way, if the drill bit shifts, you can push it back to its original position and press down to fix it.

10. Fill in the remaining squares in the section.

Use one color at a time and refill the pen with wax as needed. After you fill all the squares with the same symbol, move to the next color. This will help you work faster and stay organized.

11. The same technique fills the canvas.

Work on sections 1 to 2 inches (2.54 to 5.08 cm) wide, one color at a time. When you have completely filled in one section, move on to the next section.
